Because you used to just have to focus on Google Search and work on one type of algorithm, and now it's not really even an algorithm anymore, because LLMs and AI aren't an algorithm. It's a word association game. I mean, that's really what it is.

So, to answer your question, what is Google really focusing on and what are they seeing? What I'm seeing so far in the businesses that I'm running right now is establishing solid authority on your website. Even though only about 15% of your website's going to be cited by AI, it still is a huge asset, and most people are just not optimizing it.

So I think that first and foremost, you have to have your site fully optimized. And really what I'd say by that is, have a lot about what your company is, what you stand for, what you do. All those little things.

And then the next big stuff is being cited by other people. It's what's outside of your website: how many other companies or other businesses, or even forums, people, customers are talking about your business in other areas.

And right now, with Gemini, AI Overview, even with ChatGPT, all those ones, Reddit is huge. Most businesses are forgetting about Reddit right now, and Reddit is one of the best ways.
