Business owner: How do I get more HVAC leads? Everybody's selling me something different.
Joshua: Here are four ways to get HVAC leads. Some are fast and you pay every month. Some are slow and keep paying off. One, paid leads. Google search ads can be running in a day or two. AC repair ads run about $128 a lead. Angi, Thumbtack and Local Services Ads charge per lead too. A lead isn't a booked job.
Business owner: That's what I've been doing. It's eating me alive.
Joshua: That's why ads shouldn't be your only source. Two, SEO: ranking on the Google map and in search. It's slow, months of work. But those calls don't cost per click, and they don't shut off when you stop paying. Better reviews can also lower what Local Services Ads charge per lead.
Business owner: My nephew keeps telling me to try Facebook.
Joshua: Three, Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram. Good for tune-up offers and plans before anything breaks. Weaker for the no-cool emergency. Four, people who already know you. A survey reported in ACHR News found about two in three homeowners found their HVAC company by word of mouth. Ask every customer for a review and a referral, and keep your plan members close.
Business owner: So which one do I pick?
Joshua: Usually a mix. Ads for this month, SEO for next year, your past customers all the time. And track which ones actually book.
